Book Clubs for the Intelligent 20-Something

These clubs are bonafide proof that there is hope for smart millennials everywhere.

MDJ Reads - founded by Mrs. Dow Jones

Comedian, Entrepreneur, and Finance Magician - Haley Sacks (aka Mrs. Dow Jones) has taken her nationally recognized brand to all new heights.  MDJ Reads is a relatively new book club that already packs a practical punch - helping all of us 20-somethings tackle money management like pros. Her club, Instagram, and Youtube videos will provide you with the tools to take your personal finances by the balls while learning about negotiating, markets, and the world of Finance. The shop merchandise is also cute to boot. Past reads include: Warren Buffet's Ground RulesNever Split the Difference by Chris Voss and Billion Dollar Whale by Tom Wright & Bradley Hope.

Belletrist - founded by Emma Roberts & Karah Preiss
bel·let·rist (/ˌbelˈletrəst/)
noun a person who writes essays, particularly on literary and artistic criticism, that are composed and read primarily for their aesthetic effect.

Created circa 2017 - Emma Roberts (of AHS) and Karah Preiss joined forces to create a truly one-of-a-kind book club. The books range from anthologies to murder mysteries. Each incredibly hard to put down and full of characters that live with you long after the book is finished. Not only are the recommendations on-point but they regularly partner with small independent bookshops encouraging their members to shop local. Genius & warmhearted, they use their clubs fame to shed light on independent booksellers everywhere, and I am here for it. Most of the book club activity is conducted on their Instagram through live feeds, stories, and posts.

Our Shared Shelf - founded by Emma Watson
So, I ask the question sincerely... is she actually Hermione or Belle? Because Emma Watson (of Harry Potter & Disney's Beauty and the Beast fame among her many other accomplishments) has a book club that I never knew about until very recently. I haven't read any of her books yet, but I can only assume that she caters to similar and like-minded 20-somethings. It is with blind trust that I recommend we all check out her book club. I really admire how her Linktree site is organized. It's outrageously easy to navigate. The site includes a Goodreads discussion section, pay-it-forward book borrowing, and video interviews with the authors.

As always, Happy Reading

xoxo - Erica
